UPWIFT partners with various organizations to bring our members excellence in programs or events. Those organizations may have a membership or following that complements UPWIFT’s, or they can provide access, expertise, and entre to professionals, speakers, and leaders in film, television, and media production at all levels.
The Rosendale Theatre is a three-story, 260-seat movie theater and performance built in 1905. The owner, the Rosendale Theatre Collective, is dedicated to preserving the historic Rosendale Theatre and enhancing the cultural life and economic vitality of Rosendale and Ulster County through film, the performing arts, and educational programming. A popular regional screening facility, the theater is equipped with state-of-the-art digital cinema projectors.
Opened in 1972, Upstate has a history of finding and fostering an audience interested in supporting an alternative to mainstream cinema. Upstate came of age along with the “independent” film movement, screening sought-after indie features and documentaries along with films that were rarely screened in this country, much less in a semi-rural area. Over the decades, Upstate has shown thousands of films and hosted hundreds of filmmakers and critics, on its way to becoming a critically-acclaimed destination itself.

“THE LINDA” WAMC’s Performing Arts Studio is a multi-purpose facility located in the heart of Central Avenues Midtown Grid at the corner of Central Avenue and Quail Street in Albany, New York. The 340 capacity performing arts studio hosts a diverse selection of events including concerts, debates, lectures, films, and other activities, many of which are broadcast throughout WAMC’s seven-state listening area and online at wamc.org
The Center for Photography at Woodstock (CPW) is a not-for-profit artist-centered organization to develop and promote contemporary photography, located in Woodstock, New York. The center offers various programs from exhibitions and workshops to artist residencies and access to professional workspace.
